Victim Mentality

Scripture: John 5:1-14

I remember many years ago I was part of a praise and dance team at a church I attended in Belle Glade, Florida. When we practiced and prepared for a performance to a song we would simply just listen to it, alone in the sanctuary, at home, in the car, really anywhere. We had to truly understand the message in the song, it had to be real to us, it empowered us to be used of God for his purpose. We had to self evaluate our lives, our relationship with God and his will in our lives. The message had to speak and minister to us to fully release all the power in it to reach others. We prayed for people we didn’t know, we asked for hearts and minds to be prepared to receive what God had for them through our ministry. The song called, Holy Thou art God is originally written and performed by Richard Smallwood. The version we used was performed by Indiana Bible College and it was recorded live, It is saturated in the Spirit of God that it can not just be recreated and professionally recorded, just because. I have yet to find actual footage from the original performance but Thank God there is Audio.

I have asked God to speak to me during this Bible study so that I may share my thoughts, prayers and what has blessed me will speak to you. The words are so powerful to listen to but even more to proclaim. God is so worthy of all our praise, if only because he IS God. In the book of John chapter 1 verse 14 it says that he DWELT among us. I remember when I heard that and it was real to me, I have never forgotten that verse and call on it to remind me that he comes to me because I go towards him, I do not walk alone in this world. He has plans for me that my mind can not hold in understanding, but I faithfully believe if I am obedient in him all things will be revealed to me. His name is Jesus and he is God! He is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit! He is ALL THREE IN ONE. We are not victims, so we must not live like one. We were created for the ultimate purpose to just Love God back with the love he gives us. If God were to stop moving in your life right now, it would still take us a thousand years to praise him for all he has already done.

Who is this King? He is Holy, He is God, He is worthy, He reigns forever and YOU ARE HIS!. He spoke you into existence. His name is Jesus!

Get UP, Pick UP your mat and Walk! He created you , redeemed you, delivered you. He has given you power, strength and blessings, live like it.
